Types of Content Rights

Public Domain

Works whose copyright has expired (generally published before 1928 in the US, or author deceased 70+ years). These can be freely converted to audiobooks.

Original Content

Text created by the user themselves. Users have full rights to create audiobooks from their own original work.

Licensed Content

Works for which the user has obtained explicit permission or license from the copyright holder to create derivative audiobook versions.

Fair Use

Limited excerpts used for commentary, criticism, education, or other transformative purposes as permitted by applicable law.

Prohibited Content

Users may NOT upload or convert:

  • Copyrighted books without permission from the rights holder
  • Content that infringes on trademarks or other intellectual property
  • Pirated or illegally obtained text
  • Content misrepresenting rights status or authorship
